After several months in the competition's top four, the Phoenix hit a five-match winless run from March, eventually only scraping into the top six. However after further public comments from local sporting bodies, Mayor Whanau has now u-turned and ordered a review. College Sport Wellington CEO Bryan Dickinson joined Adam Cooper to speak about the issue, and explain the impact high fees have on kids playing sport. The group Affordable Sports for Greater Wellington asked council candidates before last year's election for an independent review of pricing for the likes of football fields, basketball courts and artificial turfs. Although 13 members agreed to the pledge, a recent letter from Mayor Tory Whanau says the council will not support a review. Capital Football CEO Richard Reid joined Adam Cooper to discuss the issue. Carterton-based professional triathlete Scott Harpham is competing in the event for the first time, and joined Adam to talk about his own career to date, and why the sport is thriving post-Covid.
