An Australian woman has been caught using a DIY number plate on the streets of Sydney.
The 32-year-old woman鈥檚 number plates had been confiscated by New South Wales police after her licence was suspended.
She was meant to stay off the roads for three months but told officers she 鈥渉ad to drive to go see my friend鈥.
Officials shared a photo on social media showing the Hyundai Veloster鈥檚 crudely duct-taped cardboard plate.
The woman has now been given a court attendance notice for her offences, which include driving while her licence was suspended and using a misleading number plate.
In 2019, a Canterbury man stole from a Caltex petrol station in Kaiapoi with a similarly crafty registration number.
The man used a cardboard cutout to cover his plate, which instead displayed the letters 鈥淚OU鈥.
Staff were amused by the 鈥渃heeky鈥 incident, but said it was 鈥渟till a bit of a nuisance鈥.
