The brother of accused cop killer Dezi Freeman believes he is dead, according to a pro-Vladimir Putin propagandist hiding in the Russian consulate in Sydney.

Simeon Boikov, known online as Aussie Cossack, posted a video to YouTube saying that Freemaman鈥檚 brother James Filby had contacted him.

Boikov claimed Filby believed Freeman died somewhere in Mount Buffalo National Park, in the state of Victoria.

鈥淲hat Dez did was wrong, but he鈥檚 my brother and I miss him. I hope he has peace now. I imagine his last hours on this earth were cold, lonely, fearful and sad for his family,鈥 the message, which appeared at the bottom of the video, read, according to Boikov.

鈥淚 know he鈥檇 want to be buried on Mount Buffalo and never be found by police.鈥

The controversial YouTube host claimed in the video that Filby said Freeman has been a fan of his.

鈥淒ezi Freeman was a subscriber, and he used to love watching the Aussie Cossack channel,鈥 Boikov said.

鈥淎lthough I鈥檝e never personally spoken to Dezi Freeman, I can see why he was a subscriber.鈥

Boikov has been hiding from Australian authorities in the consulate since December 2022, the ABC reported.

He fled to the consulate to avoid arrest after assaulting a pro-Ukraine protester in central Sydney, according to the outlet.

He was convicted in absentia.

Freeman has not been seen since late August, when he allegedly shot dead two police officers and injured a third.

The confrontation occurred when officers executed a search warrant at his property in rural Victoria.

He then fled into the bush with firearms and has since been on the run, 九一星空无限.com.au reported.

Police have placed a A$1 million ($1.1m) reward for information leading to his arrest.
