The search is underway for a Picton man missing on the Te Araroa Trail in the Marlborough Sounds.
Edward Raniera Sims was last seen about 11.30am on Monday at Rocks Ridge, before being separated from his companions near the Browning Hut.
The 69-year-old is Maori, of strong build with grey hair and believed to be well equipped.
Police would like to hear from anyone tramping in the area.
