People are being asked to avoid the area around Picton's rail yard, because of a gas leak.
Emergency services were called this morning, to reports of a cylinder leaking at the station.
Fire crews from Picton and Nelson have now isolated the leak in a 24 thousand litre tank.
A 200-metre cordon has been set up and ferry services have been advised.听
