
Farmers in the deep south are being warned they're not out of the woods yet.
Snow is expected at around 300 metres, but also down to sea level in some places from this evening, through until Monday.
Eastern Southland and Clutha will get the worst of it, with a strong southwesterly creating blizzard conditions.
MetService has also issued snowfall warnings for a number of high roads.
Several centimetres of snow are forecast for the Desert Road between tomorrow morning and Monday morning.
In the South Island, Lewis, Lindis and Porters's Pass and The Milford Road are all likely to have anywhere from snow flurries to four centimetres of snow overnight and in the morning.
However, a snow warning for Arthurs Pass has been lifted.
