A since-deleted social media post from Winston Peters鈥 official Foreign Minister account appears to take umbrage at the Prime Minister鈥檚 characterisation of a new trade partnership.
Christopher Luxon, who was attending the East Asia Summit in Kuala Lumpur, posted a photo on X, formerly Twitter, late on Tuesday night (NZT) of himself linking arms with South East Asian leaders.
The caption began: 鈥淚鈥檝e just done a deal with Southeast Asian nations that will help grow our economy at home.鈥
Peters鈥 account reshared the image with just one word: 鈥淲e ... 鈥
The post was later deleted. It鈥檚 not clear how long it was public.

Peters is currently in Stockholm, holding talks with his Swedish counterpart and attending the first-ever New Zealand-Nordic 5 Foreign Ministers Meeting.
Peters鈥 office said via a New Zealand-based staffer that he was 鈥渦naware of the circumstances鈥 surrounding the post.
The Prime Minister鈥檚 office has also been approached for comment.
Luxon鈥檚 post finished: 鈥淪outheast Asia is one of the fastest growing regions in the world. And New Zealand鈥檚 future economic prosperity lies here in the Indo-Pacific.
鈥淭hat鈥檚 why I鈥檓 proud we are now one of a handful of Asean鈥檚 Comprehensive Strategic Partners.鈥
Luxon has since travelled on to South Korea to attend the Apec forum.
