He's been in politics longer than nearly anyone - and Winston Peters isn't ruling out yet another political campaign.
He's told media at Waitangi that he's considering standing in the Northland by-election.
"It's a possibility," he said. "I'm a local here. I come from here."
"I know more about this area than a whole lot of other pretenders who come out left-field and say that they represent the North."
Meanwhile, former politicians from the north Hone Harawira and Shane Jones have today ruled themselves out of standing in the by-election.
