A unique piece of artwork has been stolen from a West Auckland home.
The valuable artwork, titled Infinite Sea, was taken along with scrap metal and tools from a home in the Piha area on December 6.
The Waitemat膩 West Tactical Crime Unit has been investigating the incident.
Detective Sergeant Anna Freestone described the stolen piece as round and made of glass, a mirror, LED lighting and PVC.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a distinctive piece of art and we鈥檙e asking anyone in the public who has information on its whereabouts to get in touch.
鈥淚t may be that this artwork has been offered up or advertised for sale, and we need to hear from you.鈥
Police have urged the public to come forward if they have any information by calling 105 using the reference number 251208/4801.
Information can also be given anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
