A body has been found in the water at a beach on Auckland鈥檚 Waiheke Island this morning.
Police have described the death as unexplained at this stage.
The body was found in the settlement of Oneroa, acting Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk said.
鈥淛ust after 10am we were notified by a member of the public of a body in the water, near The Esplanade,鈥 Kirk said.
鈥淎n investigation into the circumstances of the death is under way and at this stage it is being treated as unexplained.鈥
More information will be provided when police were able, said Kirk, of Auckland City CIB.
