A car was engulfed in flames on State Highway 29 near the Kaimai Summit, forcing the driver to pull over.
A video sent to 九一星空无限 shows flames and smoke billowing from the front of the vehicle, which had pulled over on the side of the road.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand northern fire communications shift manager Josh Pennefather said the car was on fire on State Highway 29 in the Lower Kaimai.
鈥淲e put it out, and now we鈥檙e just waiting for a tow truck.鈥
He said one fire truck was sent, and a water tanker was on its way from Matamata.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the area.
