A Waikato punter will have their bank balanced boosted by $1 million after winning tonight鈥檚 first division Lotto draw.

But the bigger Powerball prize was not struck and now jackpots to $8m.

Tonight鈥檚 winning numbers were 6, 16, 4, 37, 33 and 12.

The bonus number was 39 and powerball was 3.

Lotto said there was only one winning ticket in tonight鈥檚 draw. It was held by a MyLotto player from Waikato.

A lucky Strike player in Taranaki was also set to celebrate after winning $400,000 with Strike Four.

Lotto said the winning Strike ticket was sold at Inglewood Bookcentre in Inglewood.

鈥淎nyone who bought their ticket from any of the above stores should check their ticket as soon as possible in-store, on MyLotto, or through the MyLotto鈥疉pp,鈥 said a Lotto spokesperson.

There were 32 third division prize winners who would collect $1,745.
