State Highway 5 is set to be closed for several hours as spilled gravel is cleaned from the road.
Traffic is blocked on SH5 in both directions near Waipunga, between Matea Rd and Pohokura Rd, after a truck rolled around midday today.
NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) closed SH5 between Taup艒 and Eskdale at 1.15pm.
A police spokesperson said one person had moderate injuries from the crash and was being seen by ambulance staff.
The truck has spilled gravel across the road, closing the road for several hours while clean-up is co-ordinated, the spokesperson said.
Motorists should avoid the area, delay travel or take an alternative route.
