At least one person is injured after people tried to force their way into an already packed Christchurch student bar.
A police spokesperson said they had to help disperse the 鈥渓arge crowd鈥 after being called to Foundry Bar on Ilam Rd at 10.10pm.
At least one person had minor injuries after the disorder incident.
The bar posted on social media at 10pm telling those still in line to 鈥渟ettle down鈥.
鈥淲e are trying to get people in the best we can.鈥
Foundry Bar pleaded with the crowd via social media to settle down.
A follow-up post to its Instagram story said too many people showed up, and they did not have capacity. It then talked about the upcoming larger student Tea Party event to be held this weekend.
鈥淟ooking forward to the Tea Party where we have much more space and staff make sure your experience is amazing!鈥

The event was the 鈥減re-party鈥 to the massive annual Tea Party hosted by the university鈥檚 student association at the same venue, which attracts around 3500 students every year.
The University of Canterbury, the university student association and St John have been approached for comment.
