A person has been left with 鈥渟tab-like wounds鈥 following a grievous assault on an Auckland main road.
Police said they were called to an incident on Lunn Ave in Mt Wellington around 5.20pm today.
Hato Hone St John confirmed an ambulance and a rapid response unit attended the scene.
One person was assessed by first responders before being taken to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition.

Police have since cordoned the area while they look into the circumstances around the assault.
