Police have seized a van believed to be the getaway vehicle after a person was critically injured in a shooting through a closed door of an Onehunga house last week.
Police said they are continuing to make progress in the investigation into the firearms incident, which occurred on Friday morning and left a person fighting for their life.
Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Bunce said a vehicle of interest was seized by the investigation teams in recent days.
鈥淲e can confirm a dark-coloured Toyota van was seen pulling up in front of the Arthur St address just after 11am,鈥 he said.
鈥淎s the van pulled into the driveway, a group of people got out and fired shots towards the victim through the closed front door, before getting back in the van and driving away,鈥 Bunce said.
He said CCTV footage of the incident helped investigators identify the vehicle, which was recovered by police in M膩ngere early Saturday evening.
鈥淭he person who reported the van to us thought it looked suspicious and called to tell us its location.
鈥淪ubsequently, we鈥檝e now got another piece of the puzzle to help the investigation as the van has been forensically examined,鈥 Bunce said.

The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.
鈥淥ur inquiries remain ongoing; however, we are pleased with how the investigation is progressing.
鈥淭his type of offending is unacceptable, and we will hold those responsible to account,鈥 Bunce said.
