An overturned truck carrying livestock is blocking State Highway 2 in Wairoa.
Police were called to the single-vehicle crash about 10.40am today.
鈥淭hankfully, the driver was not injured, however unfortunately a number of livestock were on board.鈥
Police have not said whether any livestock were injured in the crash.
SH2 is under stop/go traffic management west of the Wairoa township, near Kiwi Valley Rd.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes where possible and to expect delays.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) said a road closure may be required this afternoon to allow the truck to be recovered.
