A woman found dead on the West Coast over the weekend after being reported missing is understood to have been a German national.
The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany confirmed it had been contacted by police about the woman鈥檚 death.
鈥淯nfortunately, due to data protection regulations, we as the Embassy cannot share any further information with news or media outlets without consent from the individual or family members,鈥 a spokesperson said.
鈥淲e regret that we can鈥檛 be of further assistance.鈥
Police said the 27-year-old was reported overdue in the Fox River area on Saturday, November 1.
She was last known to have set out on Thursday, and her vehicle was later found at the Fox River car park.
West Coast Senior Sergeant Mark Kirkwood said Search and Rescue teams searched the area with the support of a helicopter, a Land Search and Rescue dog team, and local Surf Life Saving.
鈥淪he was sighted nearby by a Police Search and Rescue member,鈥 Kirkwood said.
鈥淲ork is ongoing to formally identify her, and her death will be referred to the Coroner.鈥
