A baby and toddler toy sold at Kmart has been recalled in New Zealand over choking fears.
A product recall notice was first issued for the Anko Pop and Surprise Playset from Kmart and Target stores in Australia.
The toy was found to contain small screws that could separate from the toy and become a choking hazard, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said in its product recall notice.
鈥淭here is a risk of serious injury or death by choking if small parts separate from the toy and a child places them in their mouth.鈥
An employee who did not want to be named at Hamilton Kmart confirmed the toy had also been recalled here.
The product has been on sale from January 2020 to November 2025 and only batch 20/25 from Vietnam is affected, the employee said.
Customers are advised to email or call Kmart them if they are unable to return the product or have sold or gifted it to another person.
The news comes a week after Kmart recalled coloured sand products over concerns they could be contaminated with asbestos.
The retailer has since withdrawn all sand-based toys from sale as a precaution.

It said there was a low risk that any asbestos found would be airborne or fine enough for inhalation.
The sand is part of a recall that expanded further on Thursday. The latest contaminated item added to the list is 380g pots of craft sand in 15 different colours.
Samples of the product, which are sold in dozens of cut-price retailers and dollar stores, have tested positive for asbestos.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and other agencies are also testing samples from other similar products available in New Zealand.
Testing of other play sands in New Zealand is ongoing, MBIE said.
