A police investigation is under way after a body was found on the Christchurch coastline today.
Police say they were alerted to an 鈥渋ncident鈥 in the Whitewash Head area near Sumner just before midday.
Police say they believe 鈥渢he person located deceased is not 17-year-old missing person Marley鈥.
鈥淢embers of the public are advised to avoid the area and expect a police presence while enquiries are ongoing,鈥 a police statement says.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
