Job seekers are being warned not to rely on their tertiary qualifications too much.

More than 100 companies have today published an open letter stating a number of roles within their organisations don't require education past secondary school.
The companies are more interested in skills, attitude, motivation and adaptability of job applicants.
SkyCity director Rob Campbell says they consider every candidate individually, regardless of whether they have a tertiary qualification.
"What we're saying is that we think that for a large range of jobs the tertiary qualification doesn't necessarily give an advantage and it may be that a much specific or limited form of training would be better."
