A chain of Auckland restaurants is giving away free warm dinners to those feeling the chill from stormy weather.
Satya has given away more than 50 meals at its Sandringham restaurant alone so far.
Manager Roberto Giampaolo says they'll keep giving away food at their three restaurants until 9pm - or until they sell out.
He says their family run business wanted to give back and help those who are having a tough time.
Giampaolo says people without power are sad and cold, but getting a free dinner lifts their spirits.
Around 91,000 homes are still without power.
