A car has hit a pedestrian in a central Auckland suburb, badly injuring a person and causing major delays.
A police spokesperson said a reported crash between a vehicle and pedestrian at the intersection of Dominion Rd and Balmoral Rd in Mt Eden was reported at about 11.40am.
One person was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Motorists were being asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
The serious crash unit has been notified.
